Still trying to figure out resin. I had a few bad castings at first, so I used those to see how well paint would work, and to test out a few techniques especially with the eyes. I think the way I did them here on Roseluck is my favorite so far, and I think I'll stick with it. I also liked how the mane and tail turned out (besides a little messiness with the stripes, I couldn't decide which color I wanted the grooves to be so it ended up changing a few times), really the only thing I don't like is the body. This is the best of the 'bad' castings, mainly it just has a bajillion air bubbles that I didn't fill in.
I think I'll just have to pour another mold- this one had a lot of air bubbles and vents because 1) I oriented the part I was making a mold of wrong when I went to pour it, 2) I poured it wrong and 3) I made a two piece mold when I really wanted a one piece mold. I don't like the extra work that trimming off the seam leakage gives me either. Also, I wish I'd sanded it more before I made the mold- there are a few rough spots I have to sand down after I've cast them. You can see the imperfections pretty easily here. Also also, I want to sculpt a more exciting pose than "just standing there". I'm probably going to retire this mold after a few castings and see if I can't sell customs off this one at a discounted price. xD;
All in all though it's fun. I've gotta get better with the sanding so you can't see the fingerprints in the mane... Roseluck was a good test pony, I wanna make some good pegasus wings so I can make a pegasus custom ;u; all my favorite ponies are pegasi. xD
Painted with acrylics, mane and tail made of Sculpey. She stands about 2 1/4" tall- there's a standard size Fluttershy for size comparison. She's pretty teeny!

Very nice Roseluck custom! I may be a bit bias as she is my favorate background pony but this is a really nice sculpt and paint.
